Van Boening, on the other hand, had no problems with Bigfoot as he dominated the match to earn his second straight Bigfoot title of the year. Van Boening scored wins over Mika Immonen (10-4), Roland Garcia (10-9), Aloysius Yapp (10-1!!) and then Joshua Filler in a 10-7 final match that was really not as close as the score would make you believe.įiller struggled mightily with the break in that final match, finally pocketing a ball on the break late in the match (to the applause of the packed house in attendance), but by then the match was pretty close to decided. So, how does a player assert their dominance of Bigfoot? If that player is Shane Van Boening, he just goes ahead and wins both yearly events undefeated. An undefeated run to win one of these events, while impressive, is going to happen. The sixteen player Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge happens twice a year (Derby City Classic and The International Open) and since it is a single elimination event, the eventual winner of the event will have gone undefeated.
